Our Inflatable Kayaks Range

We stock three Aqua Marina ranges covering recreational, touring, and performance paddling. The Steam is one of the most well-regarded lines in recreational inflatable kayaking, designed for stability, durability, and ease of use. Available in solo (3.12m) and two-person (4.12m) configurations. The Memba steps up the performance with drop-stitch fusion construction that gives the hull more rigidity and better tracking for longer distance paddling, with the solo Memba 330 at 3.3m and the two-person Memba 390 at 3.9m covering both solo and tandem paddlers. At the top of the range, the Tomahawk Air-C 478 is a 478cm high pressure drop-stitch solo speed canoe built for straight-line efficiency, while the Tomahawk 440 delivers the same performance-focused construction for two paddlers.

Which Inflatable Kayak Fits Your Paddling Style

Not every inflatable kayak suits every paddler, and the right choice comes down to how and where you paddle. New paddlers and those wanting a stable, forgiving kayak for lakes and slow rivers will find everything they need in the Steam range. The 312 for solo paddling and the 412 for two. Paddlers who want more rigidity and better tracking for longer distance or touring use should look at the Memba, whose drop-stitch fusion construction gives a noticeably more responsive hull than a standard low-pressure inflatable. The Memba 330 suits solo touring and the Memba 390 covers two paddlers across the same conditions. If you already have water experience and want a kayak that prioritises speed and straight-line efficiency above all else, the Tomahawk Air-C 478 is the solo choice and the Tomahawk 440 covers the tandem option. Both are high pressure drop-stitch builds designed for performance paddlers rather than beginners.

FAQ

What is the difference between a standard inflatable kayak and a drop-stitch floor kayak?

Standard inflatable kayaks, like the Laxo series, use low-pressure air chambers and are fantastic, budget-friendly options for recreational paddling. A drop-stitch floor kayak features a rigid, high-pressure floor. This gives the kayak much better stability, speed, and tracking compared to a standard model, while keeping the low-pressure side tubes for beginner-friendly balance.

Should I choose the Aqua Marina Steam or the Memba?

Both are excellent drop-stitch floor kayaks, but your choice depends on where you paddle. The Steam uses a reinforced single-skin construction, making it very lightweight and incredibly fast to dry, though it can be slightly more susceptible to cosmetic scratches. The Memba features a tough polyester outer skin, offering superior puncture resistance for rugged environments, but it does take a bit longer to dry before packing away.

Are paddles included with all your inflatable kayaks?

The Laxo and Drop-Stitch Memba kayaks come fully equipped to get you on the water, including standard paddles. However, our premium and Full Drop-Stitch models (the Tomahawk series) do not include paddles. This is also the case with the Steam models. Because these are aimed at intermediate to advanced paddlers, customers generally prefer to select their own high-performance paddles to match the craft.

Which inflatable kayak is best for a complete beginner?

If you are on a budget and looking for casual family fun, the Laxo 320 or 380 are great starting points. If you want better performance but still need something very stable as you learn, we highly recommend the Steam or Memba drop-stitch floor models.

I want maximum speed and performance. Which model is best?

If speed, tracking, and rigidity are your top priorities, you want the Tomahawk series. These feature full drop-stitch technology on both the floor and the side chambers, making them incredibly rigid and fast. They are engineered for intermediate to advanced paddlers.

What is the difference between the Tomahawk Air-K 440 and the Air-C 478?

The main differences are the style of the craft and the passenger capacity. The Air-K 440 is a sleek, 2-person high-speed kayak. The Air-C 478 is a canoe-style craft that is slightly longer, more spacious, and designed to comfortably hold 2 to 3 people.

Do the premium Tomahawk models come with a pump and seats?

Yes! Even though the Tomahawk Air-K 440 and Air-C 478 do not include paddles, they do come fully equipped with high-quality seats and the necessary high-pressure pumps to inflate the drop-stitch chambers to the correct pressure.

Are the full drop-stitch (Tomahawk) kayaks suitable for beginners?

While a beginner could certainly learn in a Tomahawk, they are generally designed for intermediate to advanced paddlers. Because they are narrower and built for speed and tracking rather than primary stability, beginners might find them slightly "tippier" at first compared to the highly stable drop-stitch floor models like the Steam or Memba.
