Description

SolRX SPORT SPF 35 Sunscreen is clinically formulated with their patented WATERBLOCK® system. This reef-friendly system ensures the highest level of performance through water, waves, even sweat. On application, the WATERBLOCK formula bonds with the skin surface, creating a water and sweat proof UV barrier that stays in place (so no running into your eyes). And it won’t clog pores, allowing skin to breathe freely and stay cool. SolRX SPORT SPF 35 Sunscreen is anti-aging, fragrance free, and non-nano. Whether chasing a PB or chasing your kids around the pool, SolRX SPORT Sunscreen is the dermatologist preferred way to play. Hawaii Act 104 Compliant for reef friendliness.

The Science Behind SolRX
Many times, we are asked to explain what makes SolRX sunscreen different from others. There are two key reasons – the manufacturing process and the unique WATERBLOCK™ system.

1) Firstly, to make a lotion, traditional manufacturing methods use what is called an oil phase and a water phase. The various ingredients in the lotion are segmented into these phases, mixed, heated and blended. In every lotion, there are ingredients which hold these two phases together during the process. What SolRX has accomplished is unique, they take the sunscreens and use the mixing of those as the oil phase; therefore, no additional oils are needed. This is how SolRX achieves an oil free sunscreen.

2) Secondly, they are the only Sunscreen to use the WATERBLOCK™ system. Within the SolRX waterproof system are what are known as volatile silicones. The Sunscreen, while its state in the tube is not waterproof. It becomes waterproof once applied to the skin. Part of the waterproofing ingredients changes chemical structure and part of it evaporates into the air, allowing the waterproof agents bond to the skin. There is no body core heating with SolRX which could be experienced with other brands. This not only ensures that it is water and sweat resistant (so it cannot run into your eyes) but also makes it feels light on the skin and, being non-comedogenic, it allows the skin to breathe.

What's The Difference Between SolRX and High Street Products - Surely Water Resistant is Water Resistant?
No. Surprisingly, to be classed as water resistant in the E.U. suncream only needs to be water resistant for 50 minutes! SolRX far exceeds this, it is lab tested to retain its performance for at least 8 hours. High street products are noticeably thinner in consistency, often liquid like - SolRX is more cream like in consistency.

Product FAQs

What is different about 'Waterblock' technology compared to regular waterproof sunscreens?

Regular waterproof sunscreens are often oil-based and will therefore break down in water. 'Waterblock' technology creates a unique bond with the top layer of skin, allowing the suncream to stay effective for up to 8 hours.
For best results with 'Waterblock' technology, apply it 15-20 minutes before sun exposure to let it bond to the skin.

Is this suncream clear or white?

This suncream is clear after application.

What is the difference between SolRX and high street products - surely water resistant is water resistant?

No. Surprisingly, to be classed as water resistant in the E.U. suncream only needs to be water resistant for 50 minutes! SolRX far exceeds this, it is lab tested to retain its performance for up to 8 hours. High street products are noticeably thinner in consistency, often liquid like - SolRX is more like a thick cream in consistency.

How often should I reapply suncream?

Most suncreams should be reapplied regularly to maintain their SPF (sun protection factor). The general advice is every two hours. Or immediately after swimming, towelling or sweating. However, high-end suncreams such as SolRX will maintain their SPF for up to 8 hours and do not need to be reapplied.

How water resistant is SolRX suncream - does it really last for up to 8 hours?

Yes it is incredibly water-resistant. Far more so than is required to meet the UK and EU regulations. Surprisingly, in order for any suncream to be able to make the claim of Very Water Resistant, sunscreen has to be tested on a person in an agitated water bath for 80 minutes and retain at least 50% of its labelled SPF rating. A duration of 80 minutes is the maximum amount of time that it can be tested for under UK and EU regulations and the specific wording Very Water Resistant is the only wording allowed to be used to advertise this.
SolRX far exceeds this and is clinically proven to maintain 97% of its protection after 480 minutes (8 hours) of continuous water immersion.

Is this suncream reef-safe and eco-friendly?

Yes. All SolRX products are reef-safe and Hawaii Act 104 compliant. It is formulated without Oxybenzone and Octinoxate, making it safe for marine ecosystems and coral reefs.

Can this suncream be used on sensitive skin?

Yes. This formula is paraben-free, fragrance-free, and non-comedogenic (won't clog pores). It is hypoallergenic (designed to cause fewer allergic reactions) and widely recommended for people with sensitive or acne-prone skin.
